Penelope Jean, Part II

Penelope-Jean-II-217-editsm

Remember Penelope Jean? I was privileged to take photos of her c-section birth way back this past fall and it was such an amazing experience. I came back two days later and got pictures of little Penelope and her family in their hospital room. I’m catching up on all of my pictures (finally!) before my own little bundle of joy arrives anytime now (I’m 38.5 weeks pregnant with our second child). I love so many of these little portraits of Penelope and couldn’t decide which ones to share here … so here are a bunch of them!

Big brother Finnegan hung out in the hospital room for awhile, enjoying snacks and some favorite TV shows from Mommy’s bed. Isn’t he adorable? Finnegan is a sweet, very intelligent little guy.

This one above might be my favorite — she looks so peaceful and incredibly sweet!

I took a bunch of these family pictures in the room and there were others that turned out where the whole family was nicely looking at the camera  and smiling … but I love this one above best because it’s the most real-life depiction of what it means to be a parent. Not every moment is picture perfect, but so many moments are fun, fun, fun! M. family, thank you again for welcoming me into these special days of Penelope’s life and for your patience as I took forever to get you the pictures of this second day!

July 27, 2010 - 11:16 pm Finnegan & Penelope » Amanda Kay Photography Blog - [...] What resulted from this session are some of my most favorite images EVER. I cannot believe how many usable, beautiful pictures we were able to get that day. Penelope was not feeling well (as we discovered about three-quarters into the shoot when she had a little spit-up accident all down Erin’s arm), so her normal infectious grin was replaced with the quiet expression you see below. She’s still beautiful, isn’t she? And to think I got to be the very first person ever to capture her precious mug on camera the first few days of her life. [...]
